Needless to say there straconsiglio HTC if you want a phone with this kind of performance … but do not recommend it if you want to do a photo shoot because the camera performance will not find exceptional, but it was certainly not one to disturb me in the choice of HTC!

As a proud owner of Sasmung Star, I got to try for a few days his “brother”: the Samsung Halley. Strengths:

3 – Mobile-looking compact and robust. The materials used seem very good.

8 – Video and photos of good quality. Maybe a little low “frame rate”.

9 – Audio in very good call, good videos.

10 – Receiving good signal.

Points ‘weak’

1 – As the Star has no wifi. I honestly do not know what to do. Surfing with the phone is not something that interests me, I have a notebook and a netbook. 3.2 Mpixels are still few to appreciate the web. In any case, since UMTS, for those interested in web browsing should work properly.
2 – 2.8-inch display a little bit: I was genuinely surprised by this “sin.” E ‘wider and shorter than the Star. Feature that I was disappointed.

I bought this device after a sad experience with the Nokia N900, I had to sell because it showed too many flaws in the software and hardware really uncomfortable.
A 3.7-inch display with capacitive brilliant colors, a keyboard with 4 rows of keys, the abundance of metal parts makes this smartphone very comfortable (for me that I have big hands), resistant and reliable . I appreciated the presence of lateral convenient multifunction button allows you to easily move between the lines of documents, and between different media.
The processor is decent (with 600 MHz ARM Cortex A8, but used at 550 MHz), has an internal flash memory (ROM) 512MB RAM 256 MB memory and an external micro SD 16 GB, expandable to 32 GB.
The Android OS 2.0 is fast and fairly reliable, there are many applications and experience of Internet and e-mail is very satisfactory. The reception is very impressive. The browser already installed is pretty good.

Cons:

• Battery life is rather limited: I use a lot when traveling by train or car and I must say that the battery too often leaves me to the ground. I believe that in a terminal in this price range the defect is unacceptable because if the battery is not everything else is useless!
• Impossible ‘(for now) to share the data connection with my laptop. For me as ADSL without this thing is very disadvantageous, because I need to view web pages on the call.
• Photo quality is very bad: I do not think the optics of the best and really does not seem to have the 5 Mpixel (which are still little).

I had trouble focusing and a strange creaking camera during focusing.

• No TV output: in a smartphone that can be compared in some respects, for a netbook, this weakness is really annoying (you can not connect to an external monitor).
• Reset sudden and unexplained software
• Absence of an FM radio (I read that would be available at the hardware level, but not implemented in software: then and who knows if there will ever be!).
• Linux Operating System but not too open source I’d say!

This last point may I say that Android is not modified by any developer, as is the case for Ubuntu Mobile that is a true open source operating system, so if Motorola decides to “leave” the users of Milestone (and I have been rather abandoned since many of the defects found have not yet been resolved), there is no development of goodwill that could change effectively.
